Fear and trust

Ik ben met een nieuw Artjournal gestart. Het is een liggende Moleskine formaat 13×21 cm. Ik ben gek op woorden, teksten, citaten, tekststempels etc. In dit journal wil ik proberen steeds een koppeling maken tussen woorden (knipsels, stempels etc.) en mijn situatie, gevoelens, gebeurtenissen in mijn leven etc. en ook stijlen, materialen en technieken uitproberen die me wat meer moeite kosten. Dit is de 1e pagina. Vertrekpunt was de tekst die uit een oude Happinez agenda komt. Ik heb die tekst gekoppeld aan de eigenschap die ik soms heb om me teveel zorgen over dingen die ik niet kan beïnvloeden te maken. Op dit moment in het bijzonder mijn niet zo vlot als ik wilde herstel van een behoorlijke operatie. Voor de achtergrond van deze pagina heb ik gewerkt met acrylverf, vetkrijt en Stazon inkt.

I started a new Artjournal. It’s a Moleskine size 13×21 cm. I love to work with words, textpassages, quotes, wordstamps etc. In this jounal I will try to bond the words I find (from magazines, stamps etc.) and my situation, feelings, what happens in my life and so on and at the same time experiment with styles, materials and techniques that challenge me. This is the 1th page. I went from a  quote in Dutch  about how we often worry about what happened yesterday or will happen tomorrow and how that prevents us to live in the moment and be happy.  It reflects to me in the way that I can sometimes worry about things that are beyond my influence. At this moment I worry about not recovering as smoothly and quickly as I would have wished from major surgery. I used acrylic paint, crayons and Stazon ink for the background.

Alice in Wonderland

Ik vind deze interpratie van Alice in Wonderland in de  nieuwe release van Stampotique, ontworpen door Janet Klein, helemaal geweldig! Voor deze kaart heb ik de paddestoelen en de rups gestempeld en ingekleurd met distressinkt. Alice heb ik ingekleurd met Tombow stiften. De tekst is een gedeelte van de prachtige World all her own stempel van Stampotique.

I just love the interpratation of Alice in Wonderland in the new Stampotique release, designed by Janet Klein! For this card I stamped and colored the mushrooms en de catepillar with distressink. I colored Alice with my Tombow markers. The words are a few lines of the wonderful World all her own stamp from Stampotique.

What’s on your mind

Maandelijks spreken Anne, Audrey, Sija, Willy en ik een thema af voor een art journal pagina. Deze maand was het thema schrijven. Niet een van mijn favorieten. Ik vind mijn handschrift niet artistiek genoeg om er een art journal pagina mee op te leuken. Maar is dat niet de kern van een artjournaling, experimenteren, jezelf uitdagen, uit je comfortzone. Bij het maken van deze pagina en het kiezen van de kleuren heb ik me laten inspirereren door de eerste tekenen van de lente om me heen. Ik vind het zelf wat te rommelig en natuurlijk vind ik mijn handschrift niet mooi, te klein, te gehaast en daardoor moeilijk leesbaar. Ben er dus niet zo heel tevreden over … Kijk vandaag zeker ook op de blogs van de anderen, zij laten hun pagina vandaag ook zien.

With Anne, Audrey, Sija, Willy and I we agree on a monthly theme for an art journal page. This month’s theme was writing. Not one of my favourites. I don’t think my handwriting is classy and artistic enough to add something extra to an art journal. But isn’t art journaling about experimenting, challenging yourself and get out of your comfortzone. When making this page and choosing the colours I was inspired by the first signs of spring all around me. I think my page ended up a bit messy and of course I don’t like the written parts, too tiny, too much in a hurry and difficult to read. So I am not that happy with it … Make sure to visit the other participants blogs today for their pages.

Less is more “Don’t scrap it”

Het is al weer een tijdje geleden dat ik meedeed aan Less is more maar eindelijk is dat vandaag toch een keertje gelukt weer. Dit papierrestje is over van een achtergrond die ik voor een notitieblokje gemaakt had. Het is gemaakt in met distressinkt in de kleuren Broken China, Tumbled glass en Seedless preserves en die kleuren heb ik ook gebruikt voor het stempelen en inkleuren van de bloem.

It’s been a while since I joined Less is more but today I had a litlle time to play so I made this card. The paperscrap is from a background I made for a notebook. It’s made with distressinks Broken China, Tumbled glass and Seedless preserves and I used these colours to stamp and colour the flower too.

Umbrella

Deze 10×10 heb ik gemaakt voor een alfabetswap. De U van Umbrella. De schattige stempel en de tekst zijn van Stampotique.

I made this 4″x4″ for an alphabetswap. The U for Urmbrella. The cute stamp and the quote are both Stampotique stamps.

Stampotique designer’s challenge “Pink, purple, black”

Het is tijd voor de nieuwe Stampotique designer’s challenge en de eer was aan mij deze keer om het thema te kiezen. Ik heb er een kleurenchallenge van gemaakt en natuurlijk daar een paar van mijn favoriete kleuren voor gebruikt. De opdracht is om een werkstuk te maken in zwart, paars en roze en natuurlijk mag je daarbij ook wit gebruiken als je wil. Zoals altijd kun je als je meedoet en uitsluitend Stampotique stempels gebruikt een kadobon van 30 dollar winnen. Voor mijn kaart heb ik de volgende stempels gebruikt: Friend, Quiet place en Daniel’s hearts.

It’s time for a new Stampotique designer’s challenge and it was up to me to choose the theme for this challenge. I chose to make it a colourchallenge and of course I picked some of my favourite colours. So I challenge you to make something in black, purple and pink. Of course you can add white if you want to. Crazy amigo’s “Tag”

Vandaag is het tijd voor de nieuwe Crazy amigo’s uitdaging. Anne nodigt ons uit om een tag te gebruiken. Ik heb een tag gemaakt maar hem verder niet verwerkt in een ander werkstuk. De achtergrond is gemaakt met sprayinkten van Dylussions en de stempels die ik gebruikt heb zijn van Tim Holtz, Stampotique en Stampington (Dina Wakley).

It’s time for a new Crazy amigo’s challenge today. Anne invites us to make artwork using a tag. I made a tag but didn’t incorparate it in another project. I made the background with Dylussions sprayinks. The stamps I used are from Tim Holtz, Stampotique and Stampington (Dina Wakley).

Dream

Een tijd geleden heb ik heel veel van deze waxinelichtdoosjes gemaakt. De foto’s heb ik opgeslagen voor tijden dat ik wat minder nieuwe dingen maak zoals nu het geval is. Dit eenvoudige doosje is gemaakt met stempels van Penny Black en Stampotique.

A while ago I made a lot of these candleboxes. I saved the pictures for times that when I don’t make a lot of new stuff which is the case at the moment. This simple box is made with Penny Black and Stampotique stamps.
